There are a lot of contenders, but it seems to me that there is one main trend: Modern Family. Last year all but the great Ed O'Neill got into this category, and although he should have gone lead, I'm hoping that the Emmys finally give him that Emmy nod, along with all or most of his co-stars. Another lead character that has humbled himself to supporting is Chris Colfer. He could easily get a Best Comedy Actor nod, but instead chose to submit himself here again. He is definitely in for a nod, and after his GG win, potentially a win here as well. From here, there are few spots left, and a lot of contenders. Don't forget about past nominee Rainn Wilson or even Neil Patrick Harris, neither of whom have won, and are popular within the Academy. I also think that The Big C will play well (as it is really a drama and is being submitted as a comedy), and so the always wonderful Oliver Platt will probably get that 5th or 6th slot. The one I am worried about is the ever-popular William Shatner, who may get a nod just for being him, and for the popular, yet dreadful $#!+ My Dad Says.
