Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series

My Predictions
Tim Conway "Hot in Cleveland"
Nathan Lane "Modern Family"
John Lithgow "How I Met Your Mother"
Carl Reiner "Hot in Cleveland"
John Slattery "30 Rock"
Justin Timberlake "Saturday Night Live"

Other Contenders - Jim Carrey "SNL", Liam Neeson "The Big C", Idris Elba "The Big C", Alan Alda "30 Rock", Jon Hamm "30 Rock", Darren Criss "Glee", Dana Carvey "SNL", Matt Damon "30 Rock", Richard Dreyfuss "Weeds", Paul Giamatti "30 Rock", Jon Lovitz "Hot in Cleveland", Matt Dillon "Modern Family", Zach Galifianakis "SNL", Will Ferrell "The Office", Eddie Izzard "The United States of Tara", Max Adler "Glee", Rob Lowe "Californication"

Commentary - I am pretty sure about five of the spots, but in the guest categories surprises always abound, so even these five are not etched in stone. That being said, it looks like Reiner, Slattery, Timberlake, Lithgow, and Lane are all pretty good shots for a nomination, as all were scenestealers, and all have won Emmys before meaning that they are definitely Academy favorites. The last slot is tricky. I think that Jim Carrey was hilarious on SNL, but my guess is that the legendary Tim Conway may have more support simply for being Tim Conway. However don't count Carrey out, or Neeson, Criss, Hamm, or Alda, all of whom have a legitimate shot at getting in.
