Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Guest Actor in Drama Series

My Predictions
Bruce Dern "Big Love"
Michael J. Fox "The Good Wife"
Hal Holbrook "Sons of Anarchy"
Jeremy Irons "Law & Order: SVU"
Robert Morse "Mad Men"
Bob Newhart "NCIS"

Other Contenders - Jonny Lee Miller "Dexter", Peter Weller "Dexter", Michael Emerson "Parenthood", Beau Brides "Brothers & Sisters", Burt Reynolds "Burn Notice", Jeremy Davies "Justified", John Corbett "Parenthood", Peter Gallagher "Rescue Me", Henry Winkler "Royal Pains", James Frain "True Blood"

Commentary - There are some huge names in this race, with five men looking to be the best bets, and plenty of contenders for the last sacred sixth spot. Michael J. Fox was huge last year on The Good Wife, but didn't get nominated, so this is his year. Then there are the acting legends, such as Robert Morse, Bob Newhart, and Hal Holbrook, who will get in on name recognition alone, not even considering they were all great in these roles. Jeremy Irons also looks to score a nod, with his stunning role in L&O: SVU, and could be a big contender for the win. Outside of those five, there are a lot of contenders that could get the final slot. Jonny Lee Miller and Peter Weller are not the biggest names in the world, which could hurt them in this category. Emmy winners like Beau Brides and Michael Emerson, and legends like Burt Reynolds also populate the field, but I actually think that the scene-stealing turn of Bruce Dern will prevail.
