Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

My Predictions
Christine Baranski "The Good Wife"
Sharon Gless "Burn Notice"
Christina Hendricks "Mad Men"
Kelly MacDonald "Boardwalk Empire"
Margo Martindale "Justified"
Archie Panjabi "The Good Wife"

Other Contenders - Debra Winger "In Treatment", Michelle Forbes "The Killing", Sara Ramirez "Grey's Anatomy", Chandra Wilson "Grey's Anatomy", Sandra Oh "Grey's Anatomy", KaDee Strickland "Private Practice", Amy Ryan "In Treatment", Chloe Sevigny "Big Love", Mary Kay Place "Big Love", Kiernan Shipka "Mad Men", Lorraine Bracco "Rizzoli & Isles", Khandi Alexander "Treme", Regina King "Southland", Monica Potter "Parenthood", Bonnie Bedalia "Parenthood", Mae Whitman "Parenthood"

Commentary - This is a race which has afforded us pundits many surprises over the last couple of years. Last year, no one predicted Archie Panjabi to even get nominated, then she defied the odds and won! This year, her character will have better episode submissions, and now, name recognition, and could win another Emmy. Beyond her, there are three performances I am almost 100% sure will get in. Those being: Christina Hendricks for Mad Men, Kelly MacDonald for Boardwalk Empire, and Christine Baranski for The Good Wife. The last two spots are a little tricky, with as many as eight women being serious contenders. Sharon Gless got nominated last year, and is well, Sharon Gless, so although many pundits have written her off as a nominee, I think she can get it. I had Debra Winger up there for awhile, but I'm not sure In Treatment has the buzz it needs, but name recognition alone could benefit her. Michelle Forbes is definitely a contender, but The Killing has been building such negative buzz, I get the feeling it may have lost some of its Emmy pull. So I am going with a personal favorite, and a buzzed performance that has been flirting with the Emmy radar all season. Of course I'm talking about Margo Martindale. If she gets in, her episode submission will be a tough competitor to the leading four ladies in this category.
