While there has been no official release from AMPAS, LA Times has verbally confirmed that Billy Crystal will be replacing outgoing host Eddie Murphy for this year's Academy Awards. This is welcome sigh of relief for the whole film community, as we have all been caught up in the turmoil and controversy of the Brett Ratner drama. Crysal brings stability and experience to the ceremony, and I am personally thrilled with the choice, as he is so damn good at it.
