Writers Guild of America (WGA) Nominees

I am proud that I got 9 out of 10, missing Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for Ides of March, although Girl was my number 6 for Adapted Screenplay. The nods other than that went as expected, with hits like War Horse, Extremely Loud, missing out. Bridesmaids getting in is probably the most significant because it continues its success with the guilds further raising speculation of its Best Picture contention. Also The Tree of Life needs a DGA or Eddie nod or ASC or something in order to stay in this race, because right now it is floundering.

Best Original Screenplay
Will Reiser "50/50"
Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig "Bridesmaids"
Woody Allen "Midnight in Paris"
Tom McCarthy & Joe Tiboni "Win Win"
Diablo Cody "Young Adult"

Best Adapted Screenplay
Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, & Jim Rash "The Descendants"
Steven Zaillian "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"
Tate Taylor "The Help"
John Logan "Hugo"
Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin "Moneyball"
