2nd Annual Television Critics Choice Nominees

As with most set of nomination lists, there are some great nods, and some glaring exclusions. Some nominations that I love: Community, Don Cheadle, Max Greenfield, the exclusion Boardwalk Empire, John Noble, Ru Paul, and Chopped. Some that were surprising/shocking: Maggie Siff, Michelle Dockery, Charlie Hunnam, Eden Sher, The Community/Happing Endings love across the board, Ashley Rickards, Garret Dillahunt. I personally loved the Best Drama Series category, but hate the exclusion of Veep (beyond JLD), Cougar Town (Especially Busy Phillips and Courtney Cox), Archie Panjabi, Sofia Vergara, Parenthood, Sandra Oh, and I'm sure there are others, that I can't think of off the top of my head. Overall, not a bad list, and shows a significant difference between the Television Academy and the BFCA, which is nice considering that the Movie Critics work so damn hard to match Oscar cotenders, its nice to see them think outside the box, knowing many of these individuals will not hear their name called Emmy nomination morning.

  1. Good list overall. It's always interesting to see how other leagues other than the Emmys make their choices. I'll make my own mock Emmy Awards when the real one come out.

  2. Anna torv : should have been nominated, she did all the hard and difficult acting in season 4.
Very uunderrated, but the entire Peter Home was done by Anna Torv.

But as usual , the subtle great acting gets overlooked,

and with Fringe once again all that writing, all that material , all those attentionseeking scenes go to John Noble.

John Noble IMO is Overrated, half of Walter is the writing, there is a psychics prof by the nname of walter Lewin at M.I.T. , 72 year old, that is more funny than this Walter,
And I disliked Nobles acting in season 1, and again this season. So much Acting Acting.

Fringe has agreat cast, a shame that the showrunners only write for Walter/Noble and Peter/Jackson.

So 4 seasons of Fringe, 0 scenes of Olivia talking about her mother, about her father, about being abused.

2 lines she got in 4.22 that she remembered Jacksonville and being there as a child, I want the same 9999 scenes about that subject that walter and Peter get.

Anna Torv brings across the past of Olivia , and makes us feel her opain constantly, but we never got told that past besides some facts.

John Noble needs all the writing, gadgets, phobia etc to tell me ( endless explanatory scenes about what happpened to Walter)
and still I do not care, the contrast,
I wonder why John Noble is so afraid to play the part where Walter abused Olivia, so that part is never touched on.
