2012 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Actor in a TV Movie/Miniseries

2012 Predictions
1. Woody Harrelson "Game Change"
2. Idris Elba "Luther"
3. Clive Owen "Hemingway and Gelhorn"
4. Bill Nighy "Page Eight"
5. Kevin Costner "Hatfields & McCoys"

Other Contenders - Benedict Cumberbatch "Sherlock", Dominic West "The Hour", Bill Paxton "Hatfields & McCoys", Alan Rickman "Song for Lunch", Martin Landau "Have a Little Faith"
Commentary - Of all the acting races in this year's TV Movie/Miniseries, which will be a measly two categories next year, this particular one is tricky, and could afford many surprises. Probably the safest bets are Clive Owen, despite H&G's mixed reviews, and Woody Harrelson. I also think Idris Elba is safetly in the mix, although some would argue against that. I would say that these three are the leaders for the win, but after last year's Barry Pepper upset, I am hesitant to make such a strong declaration. In the fourth slot, I am going with Bill Nighy, for his great turn in Page Eight, although with so many strong British contenders like Dominic West and Benedict Cumberbatch as potentials, that slot could switch around a few times. Finally, I think that with Hatfields & McCoys incredible popularity (which peaked about the time ballots were out), and will such big name stars involved (and the fact that it will be nominated in other acting categories), that at least one of its leading men gets in. I'm going with Costner at this point, although Paxton's a potent choice for voters as well.
