2012 Nomination Predictions
1. Michael J. Fox "Curb Your Enthusiasm"
2. Alan Alda "The Big C"
3. Jimmy Fallon "Saturday Night Live"
4. Will Arnett "30 Rock"
5. Greg Kinnear "Modern Family"
6. Matt Bomer "Glee"

Other Contenders - Bobby Cannavale "Nurse Jackie", Don Rickles "Hot in Cleveland", Carl Reiner "Parks & Recreation", Ricky Gervais "Curb Your Enthusiasm", Johnny Depp "Life's Too Short", Paul Rudd "Parks & Recreation"
Commentary - The Guest races always afford so many surprises that it is hard to discern. One thing is certain, Michael J. Fox will get double nods, in this category for Curb Your Enthusiasm. I also feel very confident about Jimmy Fallon's rejuviant return to host SNL, and the great Alan Alda's turn in The Big C, a television legend beloved by the Television Academy. Beyond those three there are some toss ups. Will Arnett is a safe bet for 30 Rock, but it depends if they are still infatuated with the show. Modern Family is so popular, I think that Greg Kinnear, whose movie star status will help, is also a prime choice for voters. There are some legends in the race like Carl Reiner and Don Rickles, but I'm not sure if either actually has enough this time around, although their names being called would not be a surprise. Instead in the last slot I am going with Matt Bomer. While Glee may have fallen off the bandwagon this year, his episode definitely has enough pop for the actors in the Academy, and showcase a rising talent, who has his own show and is now starring in a hit movie Magic Mike. That's a lot of buzz, and I think it will culmulate into a nomination.

  1. I love Michael J. Fox. He is such a great actor. He is my frontrunner too. Also, Arnett, Bomer, Fallon, Alda and the sixth one is a toss-up for me, but I'll go with Kinnear on this one, too.

  2. I think the last two slots are toss ups, and every time I look back at this post, I think about switching out someone. But then I can't seem to pick out someone to replace them. Oh well, there will probably be a surprise come July 19th.
