2013 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series

2013 Nomination Predictions
1. Nathan Lane "The Good Wife"
2. Michael J. Fox "The Good Wife"
3. Dylan Baker "The Good Wife"
4. Matthew Perry "The Good Wife"
5. Ray Romano "Parenthood"
6. Jimmy Smits "Sons of Anarchy"

Other Contenders - Jim Beaver "Justified", Mike O'Malley "Justified", Rupert Friend "Homeland", Robert Morse "Mad Men", Andre Braugher "Law & Order: SVU"
Commentary - Can four guys from The Good Wife really all get in? Maybe not, but each makes a case that is hard to bet against. Nathan Lane and Matthew Perry had incredibly high profile roles this season, both of which were incredibly intricate and important to the whole storyline. Dylan Baker and Michael J. Fox have been intricate parts of the series since day one, both once again making their mark with juicy and well-developed storylines. So yes, I am predicting all four. The last two slots have some interesting contenders. Guys like Jim Beaver, Mike O'Malley, and Rupert Friend all were terrific this season, but they have to overcome names that are incredibly popular with Emmy voters. First, there are two guys that I am not predicting, but should not be counted out. Andre Braugher is always a possibility, and while Robert Morse did not make the cut last year, he too should be on our radar. But I think that the last two slots will go to Ray Romano and Jimmy Smits. After Jason Ritter surprisingly got in last year for Parenthood, I think it opened the door to the rest of its cast. This season that means Monica Potter, and an Emmy favorite, Ray Romano for his romantic storyline with Lauren Graham. Finally, if anyone can get Sons of Anarchy an acting Emmy nomination, it is the great Jimmy Smits, who was simply a bad ass this year.
