2016 MTV Movie Award Predictions: Movie of the Year, Best Female Performance, and Best Male Performance

Movie of the Year
Will Win - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Could Win - Deadpool
Should Win - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Commentary - Deadpool is hot right now, but Star Wars was a cultural phenomenon. It was big, bold, and also brilliant. It paid tribute to the old, while beautifully launching a new chapter in the Star Wars story. It is the best of the bunch, and I think it will be hard to beat.

Best Male Performance
Will Win - Ryan Reynolds "Deadpool"
Could Win - Leonardo DiCaprio "The Revenant"
Should Win - Michael B. Jordan "Creed"
Commentary - DiCaprio just won the Oscar, is wildly popular, and The Revenant made a ton of money. But with Deadpool being as popular as it is, I think Reynolds will pull it off. For the record, a Michael B. Jordan win would be a welcomed surprise.

Best Female Performance
Will Win - Daisy Ridley "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"
Could Win - Anna Kendrick "Pitch Perfect 2" or Charlize Theron "Mad Max: Fury Road"
Should Win - Charlize Theron "Mad Max: Fury Road"
Commentary - Theron was so jaw-dropping in Mad Max, and should have replaced Jennifer Lawrence in that fifth slot at the Oscars (although to be fair Lawrence was pretty damn good in Joy). But this is Ridley's to lose. She instantly became a star on screen, carried one of the biggest motion pictures of all time, and has a bright future ahead. This will be well-deserved.
