2017 Grammy Predictions - Visual Media, Music Video/Film, Musical Theater Album

Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media
Will Win - Amy
Could Win - Straight Outta Compton or Suicide Squad
Should Win - Amy
Commentary - Amy was the musical film of last year, and I expect the soundtrack to honor a Grammy favorite one more time. But don't be surprised if Straight Outta Compton or this year's Suicide Squad soundtracks upset.

Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media
Will Win - Ennio Morricone "The Hateful Eight"
Could Win - John Williams "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" or Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein "Stranger Things Vol. 1 or Vol. 2"
Should Win - Stranger Things
Commentary - I would love to see the two Stranger Things composers upset here like the cast did at this weekend's SAG Awards. However, this looks like it will be between two of last year's Oscar nominees, especially since there are two separate Stranger Things nominations, which could cancel each other out. My bet is the love that flowed over for Ennio Morricone at the Oscars last year continues at the Grammys.

Best Song Written for Visual Media
Will Win- Can't Stop The Feeling! from Trolls
Could Win - Heathens from Suicide Squad
Should Win - Can't Stop the Feeling!
Commentary - While Twenty One Pilots are clearly beloved by Grammy voters this year, I expected the Oscar-nominated song from Trolls to prevail.

Best Music Film
Will Win - Beyonce "Lemonade"
Could Win - The Beatles: Eight Days a Week
Should Win - Lemonade
Commentary - Ron Howard's doc was well-liked, but c'mon? Is anything going to take down Lemonade here?

Best Music Video
Will Win - Beyonce "Formation"
Could Win - OK Go "Upside Down and Inside Out" or Coldplay "Up&Up"
Should Win - Formation
Commentary - See previous category

Best Musical Theater Album
Will Win - The Color Purple
Could Win - Waitress or Bright Star
Should Win - The Color Purple
Commentary - Bright Star has Steve Martin and Edie Brickell and Waitress as Sara Bareilles, but I think after winning the revivial Tony, The Color Purple continues its winning streak. Plus it has Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo on its side.
